The Jewish Mystics believe that healing the
world begins with gathering the divine sparks of light that are
hidden within our world. In each series we will uncover those
sparks by embodying the Hebrew letters and the Name of the Divine
itself in yoga poses. In these sessions, we will seek our own
healing as we dive into the Kabbalists’ teachings on each
seasonal theme of rebirth, revelation, repentance, and rededication.

| This 8-week series will be an exploration of
the Bhagavad Gita, one of India’s most sacred texts. The
Gita is a poetic treatise about humankind’s ongoing struggle
between the sacred and the profane. Gandhi referred to the Bhagavad
Gita as, “a spiritual reference book.” He saw it as
a guide for daily life, not as a collection of esoteric wisdom
for renunciates. In this class, we’ll focus on how this
ancient text provides a framework for living yoga as householders
whose immersion in the world of action is the path, rather than
the obstacle, to spiritual awareness. |
