wellness yoga program
mission
The Wellness Yoga Program provides medically sound, gently tailored,
and accessible yoga classes to people living with chronic, progressive,
or debilitating illnesses, and for whom yoga could complement their
medical treatment. Yoga induces the relaxation response, which puts
the body into its healing state, and allows us to manage chronic pain
and disease-related stress and symptoms. The Wellness Yoga Program teaches
skills for lifestyle change and provides tools for developing awareness,
mindfulness, and inner health.

| mindfulness for young adults |
| with kimberly carson |
| |
| As young adults grow more completely into
the larger world, the skills of mindfulness could be a great
asset during the transitions of leaving home, and beginning college
or work. This six-week course will help young adults to build
capacities for staying present-minded and at ease in the midst
of the varied and new challenges of this developmental phase.
We will explore mindful movement through yoga, formal training
in mindfulness meditation methods, as well as topics such as
how mindfulness relates to stress reduction, communication, and
emotional clarity.
