awakening the teacher
within /curriculum
the
heart of teaching
| |
The practice of developing oneself
as a teach is a concurrent river to the practice of asana itself.
When we are on the mat, the practice commands and invites us to
listen, to observe, to taste, to feel the pulse of yoga. When
we align ourselves with that pulse, we align ourselves with Grace
and allow her music to pour through us. From there, teaching unfolds
as naturally and simply as the breath itself. |

your desire for worldly success interfering with your dharma? |

Is
your desire for pleasure interfering with you liberation? |

How do
you balance these four aspects of your life as a yoga teacher? |
our
work together
| |
Through teaching exercises and round
table discussions we will explore where each teacher is now and
investigate how to move toward full potential. We will look at
the questions that are most compelling for each teacher and prompt
further questions and explorations.
As a group we will explore Yoga philosophy, in Classical, Non-dualist
and Rajanika Tantra expressions, and use the ground of these traditions
as a foundation for recognizing and guiding students into the divine
current of the heart of wisdom.
We will also emphasize the five koshas of the being and the physical,
emotional, and causal bodies as a model of the whole person and
a paradigm which maintains the depth of the teaching and prevents
superficial practice.
Special guest lecturers are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday
afternoons - these names will be announced shortly.
Lastly, we will take a courageous look at the Shadow Side of teaching,
including issues such as Projection, Transference, Power, Sexuality,
the reality of Sadhana in the mainstream and in the marketplace,
Boundaries, Financial Realities and sustaining Joy while doing Business. |
